Indices ESG de la Bourse de Casablanca (MASI ESG, Casablanca ESG 10)

Morocco has ESG indices - what it lacks is assured, standardised ESG data behind them.

The Casablanca Stock Exchange launched the MASI ESG index (2018) and complemented its index family in 2023 (Casablanca ESG 10, small-cap index). These indices weight listed companies on environmental, social and governance criteria, giving allocators an off-the-shelf sustainable-allocation vehicle for Moroccan equity. Limitation for institutional users: the underlying ESG data is issuer-declared, unassured and heterogeneous - which is precisely the gap a rules-based, auditable scoring layer can fill.
