France has officially appointed Philippe Lalliot as its new ambassador to Morocco, succeeding Christophe Lecourtier who has been named head of the French Development Agency.
Lalliot, a career diplomat, has held various positions within the French Foreign Ministry, including spokesperson and ambassador to the Netherlands and Senegal.
He currently directs the Crisis and Support Center at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Lalliot's appointment was confirmed by a presidential decree published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
