Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty have been reaffirmed by Guinea-Bissau, which has reiterated its unwavering support for the country's control over its entire territory, including the disputed Western Sahara region.

The West African nation has also expressed its backing for Morocco's autonomy initiative, which it considers the only viable and realistic solution to the regional dispute.

This stance was reaffirmed by Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister, João Bernardo Vieira, during a meeting with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, in Rabat.

The minister emphasized that his country's position on the matter is firm and consistent, and that it will continue to support Morocco's sovereignty over its territory, including the Western Sahara region.

This position is in line with the United Nations Security Council's resolution 2797, adopted on October 31, 2025, which recognized Morocco's autonomy plan as the only credible and durable solution to the Western Sahara dispute.

The resolution marked a significant milestone in the region's history, and Guinea-Bissau has welcomed this development with great satisfaction.

The country's stance on the matter is crucial for the Moroccan market today, as it sends a strong signal of support for Morocco's sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is essential for foreign investors and the country's economic stability.

The news is also significant for the region, as it highlights the importance of international cooperation and diplomacy in resolving regional disputes.
