Morocco's Office National de l'Electricité et de l'Eau Potable (ONEE) and telecoms operator inwi have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to accelerate the country's digital transformation through the deployment of telecommunications infrastructure.
The partnership aims to consolidate the development of telecommunications, optimize the management of national fiber optic infrastructure, and strengthen Morocco's digital sovereignty by 2030.
The agreement will enable the deployment of a national fiber optic network with high-capacity, allowing for the creation of new operational synergies and the implementation of joint projects to modernize and extend telecommunications infrastructure, supporting territorial development.
The partnership also opens up prospects in several strategic areas, including digitalization of services, operational data management, cybersecurity, and network intelligence.
The two partners commit to deploying innovative solutions to enhance resilience, redundancy, and continuity of services.
Through this agreement, ONEE and inwi reaffirm their shared ambition to support Morocco's digital transformation and consolidate the country's position as a regional hub for digital infrastructure, serving citizens, businesses, and institutions.
This development is significant for the Moroccan market today, as it paves the way for improved digital connectivity, economic growth, and increased competitiveness, ultimately benefiting the country's economy and investors alike.
The deployment of a national fiber optic network will also create new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs, driving innovation and job creation.
As Morocco continues to develop its digital infrastructure, it is likely to attract more foreign investment, further solidifying its position as a key player in the region's digital economy.
