Morocco has been drawn into Group A for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, alongside Gabon, Niger, and Lesotho, following the draw held on Tuesday at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo.

The qualifying tournament will take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027, with a total of 48 teams participating, including the three co-hosts.

The teams are divided into 12 groups of four nations, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the final phase.

A additional spot will be awarded to groups featuring a co-host nation.

The qualifications will unfold in three phases of the FIFA international calendar, culminating in the final phase from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

The first two rounds will take place from September 21 to October 6, 2026, followed by the third and fourth rounds from November 9 to 17, 2026.

The qualifications will conclude with the fifth and sixth rounds, scheduled for March 22 to 30, 2027.

This development holds significant implications for the Moroccan market, as it underscores the country's commitment to participating in major international sporting events, which can have a positive impact on national morale and economic activity.

The successful qualification of the Moroccan national team will also attract significant attention from international investors, who will be keen to monitor the country's economic and financial performance in the lead-up to the tournament.
