CloudFret, a Moroccan startup, is preparing for a new growth phase with a forthcoming listing on the capital market.

Its founder and CEO, Driss Jabar, discusses the company's technological ambitions, European projects, and its desire to transform the logistics between Africa and Europe in depth.

1.

Does the new phase you are preparing mark a turning point for CloudFret?

This fundraising marks a change in dimension for CloudFret.

We are no longer in a phase where we need to prove that the model works.

This stage is behind us.

CloudFret is today a profitable startup, with solid commercial traction, technology already deployed on the ground, and a clear ambition: to become the digital infrastructure of reference for freight between Africa and Europe.

We have received letters of interest from investors who want to accompany us in this new phase.

Their interest confirms a strong conviction: African logistics is entering a major transformation period, and CloudFret is one of the actors capable of driving this transformation at scale.

The objective of this operation is to accelerate on three axes: strengthen our technology, particularly around artificial intelligence; develop our SaaS solutions for transport actors; and accelerate our expansion in Europe with the progressive launch of intra-European operations.

Our ambition is simple: to make CloudFret a technological platform capable of playing in the big leagues with international freight actors.

2.

What differentiates CloudFret from other logistics platforms?

The big difference with CloudFret is that we didn't start from a PowerPoint.

We started from the ground.

We built our technology in one of the most complex corridors in the world: the Africa-Europe corridor.

This is an environment where you have to manage the fragmentation of transporters, empty returns, customs constraints, port delays, documents, operational risks, and permanent cost pressure.

This complexity has become our competitive advantage.

Where many international actors arrive with standardized models, CloudFret has developed technology designed for market realities: intelligent matching, optimization of available trucks, transport ERP, automated documentation, traceability, operational data, and ESG indicators.

Our ambition is not just to digitalize freight.

Our ambition is to create the layer of intelligence in transport.

In the long term, we want to make CloudFret a kind of 'Bloomberg of freight': a platform that gives shippers, transporters, and industrialists visibility, data, and decision-making intelligence in a sector that still often works blindly.

The future of freight will not be just about transporting the most.

It will be about having the best data, the best technology, and the best anticipation capacity.

That's exactly where CloudFret wants to position itself.

3.

How will the funds be used?

Technology will be at the heart of the use of funds.

CloudFret is no longer just a freight marketplace.

We are building a genuine technological infrastructure for road transport: a platform that can connect flows, trucks, documents, data, and operational decisions.

A significant portion of the financing will be dedicated to artificial intelligence, particularly to improve capacity detection, reduce empty kilometers, optimize routes, automate certain operational tasks, and strengthen our predictive capacity on flows.

We are developing a platform that can provide real-time visibility and decision-making intelligence to all stakeholders in the freight ecosystem.

This will enable us to create a more efficient, transparent, and sustainable logistics chain between Africa and Europe.
